Stephen Fry demolishes God
Irish TV interviewer Gay Byrne was rendered practically speechless when actor, comedian, writer and atheist Stephen Fry let loose on God yesterday.
Byrne, interviewing the newly-married broadcaster on his show The Meaning Of Life, asked Fry what he would say to God when he dies and pitches up at the pearly gates. Fry replied:
‘I’d say, bone cancer in children? What’s that about? How dare you? How dare you create a world in which there is such misery that is not our fault? It’s not right, it’s utterly, utterly evil.

Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid God that creates a world that is so full of injustice and pain?
Flabbergasted, Byrne sputters:
And you think you’re going to get in?…
Fry replies:
But I wouldn’t want to. I wouldn’t want to get in on his terms.
