FORTY-TWO years after he was officially branded a “fag” in a Canadian school yearbook, a Vancouver man has received an official apology from the North Vancouver school district.

Robin Tomlin finally got some closurelast month to the antigay bullying that haunted him since childhood when school district Superintendent John Lewis apologised, in person, for allowing the word “fag” to appear next to Tomlin’s name in his 1970 high school yearbook.

Roman Catholic Church bigwigs directed $2 million toward campaigns against marriage equality in four states in the run-up to the US election, joining its ally the National Organization for Marriage as a major financial backer in the fight against equal civil marriage rights for LGBT Americans.

The Human Rights Campaign, according to this report, found that the Catholic Church, with its affiliate, the Knights of Columbus, spent more than $1.3 million in Minnesota, where voters rejected a proposed constitutional ban on same-sex marriage.

UGANDA’S notorious anti-gay bill will be passed before the end of 2012 despite international criticism of the draft legislation, the speaker of the country’s parliament said this week, insisting it is what most Ugandans want.

A COURT in St Petersburg, Russia, has decided to allow bunch of anti-gay lunatics to proceed with a lawsuit against American pop singer Madonna.

During a pre-trial hearing this week the court found that the lawsuit, filed by groups such as Union of Russian Citizens, the People’s Assembly and the New Great Russia, presented “sufficient evidence” that Madonna violated local anti-homosexuality laws.

A CATHOLIC priest who pleaded guilty this week to molesting two under-age brothers is banned from “ever exercising priestly ministry,” according to a statement from the Archdiocese of St Paul and Minneapolis.

Rev Curtis C Wehmeyer, 48, pleaded guilty in Ramsey County District Court to 20 counts, including one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and 17 counts of possessing child porn. He did not receive a plea bargain.
